Adsorbent Material: – The heart of a PSA nitrogen generator is a bed of adsorbent material, typically carbon molecular sieves (CMS) or zeolite. These materials have a high affinity for oxygen and other trace gases present in compressed air.

Selective Adsorption: – When compressed air enters the adsorption vessel under high pressure, oxygen, water vapor, and other gases are preferentially adsorbed onto the surface of the adsorbent material. Nitrogen molecules, being larger and less readily adsorbed, pass through the bed more freely.
